'Portlandia' Actress To Exhibit Artwork In Wilsonville

Micheline Ronningen will show off her artistic talents from July 5 to Sept. 8 at Clackamas Community College's Wilsonville gallery.

WILSONVILLE, OR — Clackamas Community College's Wilsonville Campus will host the works of artist and entertainer Micheline "Mickey" Ronningen for a two-month art exhibition beginning July 5.

Widely known for her portrayal as Carrie Brownstein's mother on the IFC TV show Portlandia, Ronningen is also a prolific — albeit semi-private — artist. Additionally, she is a filmmaker, writer, photographer, and occasional blackjack dealer, according to her website.

Considered an "artistic jack-of-all-trades," Ronningen will showcase 37 of her two-dimensional, abstract artworks from July 5 to Sept. 8 at the CCC Wilsonville campus gallery, located at 2953 S.W. Town Center Loop East. On opening day, the gallery will host an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

According to Ronningen's website, this exhibition will be her debut solo venture and will highlight some works previously unseen by the general public.

"We're very excited to have (Ronningen) at our Wilsonville campus," CCC spokeswoman Lori Hall told Patch Tuesday, noting that Ronningen's name will be added to a long list of local and nationally recognized artists who've had the opportunity to share their talents with the Wilsonville community and Clackamas Community College student body.
