WILSONVILLE, OR — A man with warrants for his arrest in Washington State is now also wanted in Oregon following a car chase and crash early Thursday, according to Oregon State Police.
Joshua R. Blackwood, 22, of Shoreline, Washington, is wanted for assault on a public safety officer, hit and run, attempt to elude, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal mischief. Blackwood's suspected girlfriend — Ashley M. Cochrane, 21, of Lake Stevens, Washington — was arrested following the car crash, police said, noting that her case will be forwarded to a grand jury.
An Oregon State trooper investigating alleged public indecency found Blackwood and Cochrane in a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse shortly after 3 a.m. Aug. 17 at the Baldock rest area south of Wilsonville. As the trooper reportedly engaged the pair, Cochrane and Blackwood fled the rest area southbound on I-5.
