Wilsonville Hands Out $25,000 in Tourism Grants

Money intended to help promote tourism by organizing local events

The Wilsonville Parks and recreation Advisory Board is handing out $25,000 in grants to four organizations to help support the city's tourism efforts.

Each of the four groups will promote what the board calls a "major community event" during the tourism season this year.

• Wilsonville Celebration Days for the Fun in the Park festival: $9,250;
• Wilsonville Arts & Culture Council for the Wilsonville Festival of Arts: $5,250;
• Wilsonville Kiwanis Club for the Kids Fun Run: $5,250; and
• Wilsonville Rotary Club for the Summer Concert Series: $5,250

The program is funded by City hotel and motel tax revenues.
