Wilsonville Medical Device Business Gets Millions in Funding

They make a device that has helped change the way gunshot wounds are treated, how injured soldiers are treated in the field.

Wilsonville's RevMedX, Inc. has been slowly expanding their influence on the medical industry.

Their device basically shoots sponges deep into a wound to help stop bleeding.

In 2014, the company received permission from the FDA to sell its device to the military. Then they were allowed to provide their device to be used in trauma situations involving civilians.

Their device has been the focus of coverage in outlets ranging from CBS and CNN to New York Magazine.

All the publicity and hard has paid off, apparently.

Portland Business Journal reports the company has received $3.5 million in funding.

The publication quotes company President and CEO Andrew Barofsky as saying: "It is a new technology, and we consider it to be paradigm shifting in terms of how wounds are treated.”
