Wilsonville Schools Has a New Superintendent

Dr. Kathleen E. Ludwig moves up from being deputy superintendent.

Dr. Kathleen E. Ludwig is the new superintendent of the West Linn-Wilsonville School District.

Since last year she has been deputy superintendent and for four years before that she was assistant superintendent. She also was principal of Sunset Primary, and an instructional coordinator at Stafford Primary.

Altogether, she was worked in the district for 16 years.

"Kathy Ludwig emerged from the search process as the right fit to be our next Superintendent," said the chairman of the school district board, Rob Fernandez.

"She knows what West Linn-Wilsonville schools are about and has a proven record of success in our district."

At various times Dr. Ludwig has taught courses at Marylhurst University, Lewis & Clark College and Portland State University in their departments of education. During the past few years she has been a frequent presenter at numerous conferences typically on the topic of multilingual education and language learning.

She starts in her new position July 1.
