Wilsonville Woman Killed In Illinois Car Crash

Illinois police say Ayla Tyson was killed when her Nissan Versa was rear-ended by a Ford pickup truck. Tyson was 29 years old.

JOLIET, IL — A Wilsonville woman died in Illinois Wednesday night after her Nissan Versa was struck by another vehicle on eastbound I-80 near Larkin Avenue, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Coroner Pat O'Neil identified the woman as Ayla M. Tyson, 29, of Wilsonville.

Tyson was pronounced dead at 6:43 p.m. at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room.

The Illinois State Police said Tyson's car was one of four involved in the crash just after 6 p.m. Wednesday when a Ford pickup truck with a trailer rear-ended her Nissan, which in turn hit a Ford Fusion and Ford Taurus.

A passenger in Tyson's vehicle was also taken to an area hospital with injuries, along with the driver of the pickup and a passenger in the Ford Taurus. Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Officers are investigating this crash.
