ELKINS PARK, PA -- This fantastic Gilded Age mansion in Montgomery County, featuring 55 bedrooms and 110 rooms in total, is up for sale for $16.5 million.

The mansion was once owned by the industrialist Widener family, for which Widener University was later named. Several members of the Widener family who had lived at Lynnewood died when the Titanic sunk in 1912.

According to a Realtor.com article, the mansion, which has seen several owners since it passed from the hands of the Widener family, has fallen into significant disrepair. However, realtors estimate it could be restored for between $3 million and $5 million.

The original mansion cost $8 million to build in 1900, or about $200 million today.
