Philly Archdiocese Sells Abington Property

The property was one of four unused properties sold by the Philadelphia Archdiocese on Wednesday.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia sold several local properties at auction on Wednesday … including a plot in Abington.

According to a Phillyburbs.com story, the Archdiocese sold an unoccupied, 1-acre piece of property belonging to St. Hilary of Poitiers for $325,000 to a developer who will likely build a house there.

The money will go back into the St. Hilary parish.

Max Spann Real Estate and Auction Co. oversaw the sales, which also included the former St. Bartholomew convent on Harbison Avenue in Philadelphia, which sold for $220,000. The archdiocese also agreed to sell land on Wismer Road in Plumstead for $850,000 prior to the auction.

None of the properties was occupied, according to the story.
