64 Eastern PA Police Depts. Launch Aggressive Driving Crackdown
Dozens of area police departments are embarking on a special aggressive driving enforcement campaign through the end of August.
EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA —Dozens of police departments in Eastern Pennsylvania have embarked on a special aggressive driving enforcement campaign through the end of August.
More than 60 departments are participating in the campaign, which aims to reduce crashes, injuries, and deaths, PennDOT said.
Officers will be focusing on various aggressive driving behaviors, including running red lights, tailgating, speeding, distracted driving, and more.

Municipal police agencies that participated in last year’s campaign wrote 50,707 aggressive-driving related citations statewide, including 30,197 for speeding. Failing to stop for red lights and stop signs resulted in 3,657 citations, according to information from PennDOT.
According to 2017 PennDOT data, there were 1,482 aggressive-driving related crashes and 17 fatalities in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The aggressive driving enforcement campaign is a part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded by PennDOT and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

- Caln Township;
- Downingtown;
- Easttown Township;
- East Whiteland;
- Kennett Township;
- North Coventry;
- Southern Chester County Regional PD;
- Schuylkill Township;
- Tredyffrin Township;
- Uwchlan Township;
- Valley Township;
- West Brandywine;
- West Goshen;
- West Whiteland;
- Westtown-East Goshen; and
- Willistown Township.
Delaware County
- Aston Township;
- Chester City;
- Haverford Township;
- Lansdowne Borough;
