Coronavirus Deaths Continue To Rise In Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has broken its record for most coronavirus deaths in a single day — a record set just yesterday.

HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania has broken its record for most coronavirus deaths in a single day. Officials on Thursday reported 248 new deaths, breaking the record of 220 deaths set just the day before.

Also Thursday, Pennsylvania reported 11,972 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 457,289.

There are currently 5,852 people hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 1,191 patients are in the intensive care unit.

The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 4,400 since the end of September.

The developments come just one day after Gov. Tom Wolf announced he had tested positive for coronavirus. On Wednesday he said he was feeling well and had no symptoms.
