HARRISBURG, PA — Coronavirus deaths, hospitalizations and case rates continue to increase in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 6,339 additional positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, once again breaking its own record for the highest single-day case increase.
There were also 110 new deaths reported, bringing the state's total to 9,465 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Pennsylvania has now had a total of 281,852 COVID-19 cases, with 66 percent of patients recovered.
Hospitalizations went up by nearly 200 just overnight.

There are 2,737 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 on Wednesday, up from 2,575 on Tuesday.
Of the total hospitalizations, 579 patients are in the intensive care unit. "Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older," according to information released Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 1,600 since the end of September.
