The newest long-range forecast for Pennsylvania shows "far-above-average temperatures" are expected. Here's the latest:
PENNSYLVANIA — Aside from a Nor'easter in December, winter in Pennsylvania has so far been mild and largely snow-free. There is a chance of some snow in the region on Monday, but expect a continuation of the mild temperatures in February, according to the newest long-term February forecast from The Weather Channel.
Meteorologists with that network predict February will be warmer than average in the Northeast.
"February's forecast shows far-above-average temperatures are possible across most of the Northeast," The Weather Channel reports. The map shows those "far-above-average" temperatures are predicted in Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and New England.

The average daytime temperature in the Philadelphia region in February is 45 degrees.
Above-average temperatures are expected in February in the Southern Plains, parts of the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest.

According to The Weather Channel, a "persistently strong" Pacific jet stream is behind the warmer-than-normal conditions.
The mild conditions are predicted to go into March, when The Weather Channel says we can expect above-average temperatures. You can see The Weather Channel's newest long-range outlook here.
