Forecasters Eyeing Second Big Snowstorm For PA
Forecasters say the storm shaping up is similar to the whopper we just had, but several factors will determine its course and severity.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The heaps of snow from an early-week nor'easter that dumped more than 30 inches on parts of Pennsylvania have barely been cleared, and now there's another potential storm in the forecast.
The Weather Channel said it is actually tracking two snowstorms — one toward the end of the week and one over the weekend. The first system is not expected to result in significant accumulation in the Philadelphia region, according to the current forecast.
But the second system, expected to shape up Saturday into Sunday, could result in accumulation in the Northeast.

The Weather Channel said that storm is shaping up similar to the whopper we just experienced. But how much snow it leaves in our region will depend on how strong the low-pressure system becomes off the coast.
AccuWeather warns that there is a chance that cities along the Interstate 95 corridor, including Philadelphia, could endure "another significant snow event." This comes as an arctic blast of air is expected to plunge most of the country into a deep freeze, resulting in some of the season’s lowest temperatures yet.

"For at least the next week, the weather looks pretty tumultuous in the eastern two-thirds of the United States," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Rob Miller said in a news release.
Forecasters say it's still early to tell what the impacts of the weekend storm will be for the Northeast.
"As is typical, there are a number of pieces in the atmosphere that will be at play and will help to determine where the weekend storm tracks," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Brett Anderson said.
