So what Pennsylvania spots did Food & Wine writers tout as the most notable?

Quite a few actually, and they are not all located in the metropolitan centers of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The first spot mentioned is Arcaro and Genell in Old Forge, way up in Lackawanna County near Scranton and Wilkes Barre.

Philly pizza joints that got shout-outs were La Rosa Pizzeria, Tacconelli's, Pizzeria Beddia, and Pizza Shackamaxon.

The Philadelphia suburbs weren't left out by Food & Wine, either.

Conshohocken Bakery in Conshohocken and Corropolese Bakery & Deli in Norristown each got some love from the magazine.

Looking westward, Food & Wine said Best Way, which has 14 locations, and Old Franco's Pizzeria in Johnstown also offer up some of Pennsylvania's best pies.

Even further west, suburban Pittsburgh's Il Pizzaiolo, located in Mt. Lebanon Township, made the cut for the state's best.

And Pittsburgh proper has Beto's Pizza, which Food & Wine also included among Pennsylvania's top-notch pies.
