Here's How To Vote Early By Mail Ballot In Pennsylvania

In addition to voting by mail and in person, PA residents have a 3rd option this upcoming election: Voting early in person by mail ballot.

HARRISBURG, PA — In addition to voting by mail and voting in person, Pennsylvanians have a third option this upcoming election: Voting early in person by mail ballot.

The option is available all residents registered to vote.

Once your county has finalized and printed the ballot, make a visit to your county election office or satellite office and apply for a mail or absentee ballot. You will need proof of identification to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot. Here are the accepted forms of ID.

County election officials will check your eligibility while you wait. Once verified, you will get a ballot. You can then complete your ballot and cast it in the same visit.

Voters can use this option until 5 p.m. on Oct. 27, the deadline to apply for a mail ballot for the Nov. 3 election.

Before making the trip to vote in person by mail ballot, voters should check the hours of their county’s election office or satellite office. Here is a list of satellite voting locations designated by county election boards.

When voting with a mail ballot, be sure to enclose it first in the white inner secrecy envelope and seal it, then insert the inner envelope into the outer envelope and sign. You will also need to complete the voter’s declaration on the outer pre-printed return envelope. Voters must include these two steps in order for their ballots to be counted, state officials are reminding residents.

Pennsylvania voters can also choose to vote by mail or to vote in-person at their polling place on Election Day.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 3.
