PHILADELPHIA, PA — Parts of the Philadelphia region are under a Winter Weather Advisory ahead of an overnight storm that could bring between 1 and 3 inches of snow. The system is expected to have the most significant impacts in the southern suburbs of Philadelphia, including parts of Chester and Delaware counties. The Winter Weather Advisory has been issued in those communities beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued in Montgomery and Bucks counties, where less snow is expected to fall, forecasters say.

According to forecasters, snow will arrive overnight and cease by 11 a.m. Thursday. Some additional snow — less than a half-inch — is possible Thursday night into Friday morning.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. West wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday night:: Snow, mainly after 11 p.m. Low around 25. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow likely before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of snow after 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 32. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Thursday night: A chance of snow, mainly after 7 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Friday: A slight chance of snow before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17.
