PA Expands Travel Quarantine List, Adding 3 More States

PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania has added three more states to its travel quarantine list.

Pennsylvanians who travel to Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin should now quarantine upon return, state health officials said. That's in addition to the 19 states that were already on the list.

The states's travel quarantine list includes states that are currently experiencing increasing levels of COVID-19. Travelers who visit the following states should quarantine for 14 days upon return, Pennsylvania health officials say:

• California
• Florida
• Georgia
• Idaho
• Iowa
• Kansas
• Louisiana
• Mississippi
• Missouri
• Nebraska
• Nevada
• North Carolina
• North Dakota
• Oklahoma
• South Carolina
• Tennessee
• Texas
• Utah
• Wisconsin

"It is important that people understand that this recommendation is in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. A significant number of recent cases have been linked to travel, and if people are going to travel, we need them to take steps to protect themselves, their loved ones and their community, and that involves quarantining," the Department of Health said in a news release announcing the additions to the list.

Pennsylvania's coronavirus case total reached 118,092 Saturday, after 813 additional positive cases were reported. The state's death toll from the virus now stands at 7,313.

New case counts in Pennsylvania over the past seven says are down compared to the seven days prior. As of Aug. 6, the state had a seven-day case increase of 5,016 new cases. The state's previous seven-day increase was 6,228, showing that new cases decreased in the last seven days by 1,252.
