Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Reese Dies Of Reported Brain Aneurysm

Mike Reese, who served more than a decade in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has died of a reported brain aneurysm. He was 42 years old.
Reese, a Republican, was first elected to the statehouse in 2008, taking office during the 2009-10 legislative session. In November, he was reelected to represent Pennsylvania’s 59th district, which serves parts of Westmoreland and Somerset counties.
Reese died Saturday afternoon at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, according to a statement from Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff.

In his statement, Benninghoff said he was "proud" to witness Reese's accomplishments as a representative.
“I have known Mike since he took office in 2009 and have been proud to witness his many legislative accomplishments, especially his tireless work on behalf of Pennsylvania’s students and families. Mike was a model legislator who thoughtfully put his constituents first. His spirit, presence and counsel will be sorely missed," the statement read.
