Pennsylvania Ski Resorts Welcome Fall with Festivals & Spooky Fun

White Haven, PA– September 2018 – It may not be snowmaking time just yet, but with pleasing fall temperatures and eye-popping foliage, it is the perfect time to head to your favorite Pennsylvania Ski Resort for some of the region’s best fall festivals. The Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association(SkiPA) has announced a host of events for leaf peepers and festival goers alike to enjoy all season long from Oktoberfest and traditional Fall Festival celebrations to spooky mountain thrill rides, Halloween parties and even a race or two.

Saturday, September 22 through Sunday, September 23, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Pocono Puppy Palooza

The mountain is going to the dogs! Enjoy an action-packed weekend of canine fun, including many activities for pet owners and their companions. Demonstrations throughout the weekend will include agility, nose work, treibball, obedience, explosive/narcotic demos and rally obedience. The Marvelous Mutts and Johnny Peers & the Muttville Comixwill also perform. A portion of the gate proceeds will benefit each shelter and rescue in attendance. Marathon on the Mountain

A unique marathon event in the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Marathon on the Mountain will both challenge and inspire participants while they run through the beautiful mountain terrain at Seven Springs Mountain Resort on Saturday, October 27. Runners can choose the distance that fits their skill level including a marathon, half marathon or 5K. The race route features multiple ponds, charming country lanes and some of the most scenic woods in Pennsylvania. The courses utilize both ski trails and wooded hiking and biking paths deep into the forest. Minimal hard surfaces and very few road crossings are on the course, and multiple aid stations with water, Gatorade and fruit will be served. The marathon will make two laps of the picturesque course that starts and ends in front of the Foggy Goggle at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, male and female in each race. All racers will receive a tech shirt as well as a finisher medal upon completion.
