Voting By Mail In Pennsylvania: Take The Patch Survey
A surge in mail-in ballots is expected for the November election. Share your thoughts on voting by mail in Pennsylvania:
PENNSYLVANIA — As Pennsylvania prepares for a 2020 general election like none in its history, the state is strongly encouraging voters to cast their ballots by mail to help promote social distancing amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
But concerns mount as recent operational changes within the U.S. Postal Service have reportedly led to widespread mail delays, elimination of overtime for postal workers, carriers being instructed to leave mail behind and the decommissioning of mail sorting machines.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has joined leaders from 20 states in filing a lawsuit to prevent the U.S. Postal Service from carrying out operational changes they say will jeopardize the mail-in ballot process for the November election.

The lawsuit was followed almost immediately by a statement from U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who said that all policy or operational changes will be suspended until after the election.
Wolf has filed a motion in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court asking for the deadline to receive eligible ballots to be extended to Nov. 6.
