Trump In Pennsylvania: U.S. At 'Crossroads' This Election

PENNSYLVANIA — At one of several planned stops in Pennsylvania on Saturday, President Donald Trump said the nation is at a crossroads as Election Day approaches.

Trump spoke Saturday in Newtown, near the Pennsylvania site where George Washington had his headquarters before he crossed the Delaware River. Trump said this election has the potential to be a similarly momentous event, the Associated Press reported.

In three days, the president said, “this is the state that will save the American dream," as he predicted victory in Pennsylvania.

Trump, who narrowly won Pennsylvania in 2016, planned four events across the state Saturday as he aims to keep it in his column. Without Pennsylvania, his path to 270 electoral votes grows much more challenging.

Trump narrowly lost Bucks County in the Philadelphia exurbs in 2016. He hopes to at least keep down Democrat Joe Biden’s margins in that part of the state while running up the score in more rural areas.

The president was scheduled to deliver remarks in Bucks County at 12:30 p.m., followed by rallies in Reading at 2:30 p.m., in Butler at 5:30 p.m., and in Montoursville at 8 p.m., according to his campaign team.

Saturday's rallies marked the second time Trump visited the key battleground state since Monday, when he visited Lehigh, Lancaster and Blair counties.

All eyes will be on Pennsylvania on Tuesday. Both candidates have been vying for its 20 electoral votes, which could be the deciding factor in determining the outcome of the election.

In 2016, Trump won Pennsylvania by 44,000 votes to defeat democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading Trump 51 percent to 44 percent.

Biden will campaign in Philadelphia on Sunday.
