Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Eastern PA Ahead Of Ice Storm
The Philadelphia region is again under a winter weather advisory Monday, ahead of a storm that could bring freezing rain and ice.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia region is again under a winter weather advisory Monday, ahead of a storm that could bring freezing rain and icy travel conditions.
The advisory is in place from 1 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday.
"Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute," the National Weather Service said in its advisory. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."

Power outages are also possible, forecasters said.
The forecast calls for a chance of freezing rain throughout the late afternoon and evening. The precipitation is expected to turn to all rain after 1 a.m. The rain could continue into Tuesday morning. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-40s on Tuesday.

In portions of eastern Pennsylvania, from approximately the Turnpike to the southern Poconos, there is an ice storm warning in place. Significant icing is likely there, forecasters said.
"This will result in extremely difficult travel conditions, as well as damage to trees and power lines," the National Weather Service said in its storm briefing.
Here's the current forecast:
Monday: A chance of rain or freezing rain before 2 p.m., then a chance of freezing rain between 2 and 4 p.m., then a chance of rain or freezing rain after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Rain or freezing rain, becoming all rain after 1 a.m. Low around 33. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected.
Tuesday: Rain, mainly before 11 a.m. High near 44. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 33. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday Night: A chance of snow, mainly after 5 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Thursday: Snow before noon, then snow and sleet between noon and 4 p.m., then rain after 4 p.m. High near 37. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Friday: Rain, mainly before 2 p.m. High near 43. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Friday Night: A chance of rain before 8 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 33.
