Ambler Man Assaults Employee, Resists Arrest, Police Say

An Ambler man faces charges of resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault after he allegedly assaulted an employee, smashed out a window with a rock and fled from police.
Robert Pieri, 26, of the unit block of Church Street, was the man, police said, who assaulted an employee of a business on the unit block of E. Butler Avenue Nov. 22 at 10 p.m.
Pieri then allegedly broke out a window with a rock and was last seen running down South Spring Garden Street, police said.
With the description given, officers made contact with Pieri, who allegedly started running from police, police said. Officers gave chase, and once in custody, Pieri allegedly resisted police and had to be handcuffed, police said.
Pieri was taken back to Ambler Borough Police Department, where charges were filed, police said.Â
