AT&T Cell Tower Zoning Application Withdrawn
AT&T, applying as New Cingular Wireless, wished to construct an 80-foot cell phone tower at DeKalb Pike and Morris Road in Whitpain Township, but needed approval of a variance by the zoning hearing board.

An AT&T cell tower zoning application for the Blue Bell Country Club community--one that was meant with strong resident opposition--has been withdrawn and will not be pursued in Whitpain Township.
According to The Ambler Gazette, New Cingular Wireless wished to construct an 80-foot tower at DeKalb Pike and Morris Road, but needed the zoning hearing board to approve a variance as township requirements allow for a 40-foot tower.
AT&T was set to go before the board in December. Whitpain Township Chairman Joseph Palmer announced the application was withdrawn at the supervisors meeting last week, per the article.
