WHITPAIN, PA — An overnight gas main break in Whitpain led to a shut down of 202 on Wednesday and caused many residents to report an odor of gas around the area. Dekalb was reopened at around 10:40 a.m.

The incident occurred near the intersection with Yost Road, according to authorities.

Whitpain Township Supervisor Ken Wollman said that a contractor who was working on 202 accidentally struck a six-inch main, causing the break.
