Large Fire Breaks Out At Normandy Farm In Whitpain

Firefighters are battling the blaze just off Dekalb Pike Thursday evening.

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A large fire broke out at Normandy Farm Thursday evening, officials said.

The incident occurred at some point after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Morris Road and Dekalb Pike.

Units from several surrounding municipalities responded to the scene to fight the blaze.

Heavy smoke and flames were visible in photos and videos from the scene, appearing to center on the area of the hotel and Carriage House.

The facility released a statement just before 10 p.m. saying that no one was injured and that the fire had been contained.

"While you may have heard we had a fire on property this evening, rest assured that it was contained to one building with 9 rooms, no one was injured, and it will have no impact on any other operation," the statement reads. "We will be open for business tomorrow and look forward to serving you."

It's not yet clear how the fire began.

In addition to containing a hotel, restaurant, and conference center, Normandy Farm also serves as a popular wedding venue.
