“I am so excited to accept the offer to coach the Springfield Township High School Varsity softball team this Spring,” said Coach DePaul. “This is another reason to be grateful in my already blessed life.”

Players and parents applaud the decision to hire DePaul.

“Congratulations to the new Varsity Softball Coach at STHS, Jeannine DePaul,” exclaimed a parent on social media. “Not only is she a great coach, and a wonderful person, but she is an awesome role model for our daughters! We can't wait for it to begin!”

Springfield Township High School also looked to eXpress to select a Head Coach for its Junior Varsity squad.

Andrew Miller, head coach of eXpress 12u, is enthusiastic about his new role.

“I am dedicated to the development and success of each of these young ladies, and the team as a whole. I cannot wait to begin.”

Coach Miller might face fellow eXpress coach, Amy Scharff, on the diamond this season. Coach Scharff, assistant coach of eXpress 10u, was chosen by Cheltenham High School to head coach its Junior Varsity team.

“I am looking forward to working with the JV players to help them build their skills to compete at a higher level,” said Coach Scharff.

Wissahickon School District pulled a coach from the eXpress ranks, as well. Elise Baker, who assistant coaches eXpress 10u and who is the founder and commissioner of the eXpress organization, was hired as the Assistant Softball Coach at Wissahickon Middle School. She will head coach the 7th grade team.

“I am thrilled and honored to lead this phenomenal group of young ladies as they begin their school ball careers,” said Baker.

Coach Baker is looking forward to grooming the WMS softball players for high school ball, when she will hand them off to former eXpress coach, Sarah Carney, the Head JV Coach at Wissahickon High School. Coaches Carney and Baker took eXpress 14u to Nationals together last season, and they are looking forward to collaborating again at Wissahickon.

Rounding out the hiring accomplishments is the acquisition of eXpress 14u Head Coach Pete Naticchione by Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary. Coach Naticchione is enthusiastic about leading GMA’s Varsity squad.

“I am thrilled and honored to work with this phenomenal group of athletes,” said Coach Naticchione. “These girls are ready to work hard, and that will lead to success.”

The eXpress coaches with new school coaching roles have a wealth of knowledge from which to draw within the club. Head Coach of eXpress 10u, Jason Darnell, knows what it takes to be successful as a school coach.

Coach Darnell was the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Upper Merion Area High School from 1999-2008. In 2009, he took the reins as Head Coach and led the team to the first and only District Championship in school history. He remained head coach at UM until 2012.

“I have never been more proud of eXpress Softball,” said Baker. “Our coaches are leaders and role models on and off the field. Our players learn not just to play the game of softball, but to love and respect it. Congratulations to the new school district coaches! We wish you the best.”
