Major Discount Retailer Opening First Montgomery County Store

MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA — Ocean State Job Lot, the new retailer moving into the former Babies R Us in Montgomeryville, is holding a hiring event in advance of the opening of its new store.

From Feb. 17 through Feb. 19, the event will take place at Staybridge Suites, located on 119 Garden Golf Boulevard. Full time and part time positions will be discussed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An exact opening date has not yet been announced, but they're planning on sometime this spring.

The New England-based discount retailer, which has more than a hundred stores in the northeast, officially purchased the old home of the popular toy outlet on 980 Bethlehem Pike over a year ago.

It's part of the company's ongoing expansion in the region. Ocean State's first Pennsylvania store opened in Wilkes-Barre in June 2019.

Some of the available positions include store leadership, area supervisor, stock associates, ad coordinators, department heads, and more.

Ocean State, which has a total of 139 locations in New England, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. They sell clothing, household goods, apparel, and various seasonal supplies at discount prices.
