After throwing 7 2/3's innings of no-hit ball in his season debut, Blue Bell native Ross Stripling is making an impact in the big leagues.

He followed up that performance on Thursday night, throwing 6 innings of two run ball, en route to his Los Angeles Dodgers ultimate victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Stripling is earning himself a spot in the highly competitive Dodgers rotation, on a team that has aspirations for the World Series. He holds a stellar 2.02 ERA through his first two starts.

Also from Norristown is Tommy Lasorda, former Dodgers manager who has been with the organization for decades.

During the live broadcast of the Dodgers game against the Diamondbacks Thursday night, legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully talked at length about Stripling's history and the town of Blue Bell itself, even noting a few facts about its origins.

Stripling did not stay in the area, ultimately moving to Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas before attending Texas A&M for college.
