Sen. Collett Plans 'Scam Jam' To Help Montco Avoid Fraudsters

Representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney's office and PA Department of Banking and Securites will join the "Scam Jam."

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — This Thursday, Pennsylvania Senator Maria Collett will take to Facebook Live to help Montgomery County residents avoid scammers and fraudsters looking to steal identities and money.

During Collett's event, representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities will be available to provide fraud-busting tips and answer questions.

Attendees will be permitted to submit questions via Facebook live or in advance by emailing senatorcollett@pasenate.com or leaving a voicemail at 215-368-1429.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday and streamed on Collett's Facebook page. After the seminar ends, a recording will be posted to Collett's website and her Facebook page.

"Unfortunately, scammers are not taking a break during the pandemic," Collett wrote on Facebook. "We hope this event will help local residents guard themselves and their families against financial and consumer fraud attempts."
