Temple University Ambler Presents ‘V-Day’ 2013
'The Vagina Monologues' will be performed by women of Temple Ambler for benefit performances at the Act II Playhouse.

Temple University Ambler will present “The Vagina Monologues” at the Act II Playhouse, located at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler.
Women of Temple University Ambler will have two performances, taking place March 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Tony Award winning playwright, performer and activist Eve Ensler authors “The Vagina Monologues”. The play has been translated into over 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries, and is based off of Ensler’s ‘Vagina Interviews’ conducted with women from all around the world. The interviews are performed in episodes during the play, and, according to the “Vagina Monologues” website, the play is a humorous and witty, “voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave and thoroughly human stories.”

At the top banner section of the Act II Playhouse website, where more information about the Temple Ambler presentation is available, is a recognition of “V-Day” 2013. According to www.vday.org, Ensler founded the day as a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. Local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of “The Vagina Monologues” in recognition of the day.
Tickets to the Temple University Ambler performances cost $10 by donation at the door, and proceeds from the performances will support the Montgomery County Women’s Center and the Laurel House, of which both community organizations strive to provide programs to help those who are victims from domestic violence and other forms of abuse.
