When the now infamous Montgomery County real estate listing offering a "private adult sexual oasis" first hit the Internet, reactions of every type came pouring in: some saw it with humor, some with curiosity. Some with revulsion. And some, inevitably, with judgement.

But odds are, the pair of thoughtful minds behind the home are not what people expect.

The couple, Vince Marie and Priscilla Costa, were joined by heartbreak, according to a recent interview with Philly Voice. Vince's wife of 27-years, Janice, died in Feb. 2018. Priscilla, an immigrant from Brazil, was recently divorced, the report states. Both have children.

As the pair planned a move to Philadelphia, they wanted to rent out their Maple Glen home until they decided the time was right to sell. The only problem, as the report lays out: Ambler isn't a hotbed the idea for Airbnb rentals. To spice things up, the "50 Shades" idea was born out of Priscilla's memory of "high-end short-stay love motels" in Brazil, according to the report.

They've faced all kinds of criticism and hatred, accoridng to the report. Some tell Vince he's moved on too fast from his late wife. Others mock Priscilla's son's Brazilian heritage. Vince's daughter, who attends Upper Dublin High School, said that the entire school community knows about the sex home. But they've perservered, the report lays out.
