Niche.com's rankings for best high schools for athletes are out, and the results are good for Wissahickon.

AMBLER, PA — Niche.com’s rankings for best high schools for athletes are out, and the results are good for Wissahickon.

The school was ranked the 25th best high school for athletes in Pennsylvania. Locally, they trailed Lower Merion, number one overall, Coatesville (4th), Harriton (5th), Spring-Ford (6th), and Conestoga (7th).

The ranking takes five factors into account, including a parent/student survey on school sports, the number of sports offered, the participation of girls, and, separately, the participation of boys, and expenses per student. Data is collected from Niche.com users, the National Center for Education Statistics, and the Civil Rights Data Collection service.

Wissahickon received an "A" grade for athletics from Niche.com. The school has a total of 24 sports that are offered to students.

The number one ranked school in the nation was Illinois’ Adlai E. Stevenson High School.
