Attempted Armed Robbery Reported In Bala Cynwyd Apartments

Lower Merion Police said someone tried to rob a resident of the Royal Athena Apartments at gunpoint Wednesday night.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A Bala Cynwyd resident was the target of an attempted gunpoint robbery Wednesday night, Lower Merion Police said.

According to police, an attempted armed robbery occurred at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Royal Athena Apartments, 600 Righter's Ferry Road.

Police said a resident of the apartments was accosted by a man in the elevator.

The man pulled out a handgun and announced a robbery.

However, police said the man left the area without taking anything.

The suspect was described as a black man 40 to 50 years old with graying hair. He was wearing dark clothes, a black face mask, and a black baseball cap.
