Congressman Evans Denounces GOP Healthcare Bill
Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania's 2nd Congressional District, said his constituents will face highers costs under the bill.

Congressman Dwight Evans came out against the recently unveiled Republican-drafted healthcare bill that aims to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare.
Evans – who represents Northwest, West, North, parts of South and Center City Philadelphia, Narberth Borough, and Lower Merion Township – said his constituents in the area would face higher healthcare costs under the GOP's plan.
After the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report on the bill, Evans called out Republicans, saying they aren't representing those who elected them

"Today’s news is quite simple," Evans said on Monday, June 26 following the CBO report, "the Senate Republican healthcare bill means higher premiums, increased deductibles and more out of pocket expenses for Philadelphians."
Evans spoke out when the bill was first made public, making a statement on the House floor.

"The Trump Administration and the Republican party say they want to put country first but seem to be doing so at the very expense and livelihood of the people they were elected to serve," he said Monday. "The healthcare debate in our country should be about increasing funding, promoting prevention and protecting the quality of life for each and every person in Philadelphia, the Commonwealth and our nation."
