How To Tell When Moldy Cheese Goes Bad

A Cheese Co. employee explains when to toss cheeses like blue cheese and Roquefort.

We all know cheese is actually aged milk and processed so it's in a solid form. And cheeses like blue cheese and Roquefort cheese are known to be "moldy cheeses." So, how do you know when to toss out that old cheese? 

According to cheesemonger and shop employee Annie Dolan, of the The Cheese Co. in Narberth, it's all about the texture. When a soft cheese goes "super soft" or when a hard cheese goes "extra hard," that's when you know the cheese has gone bad, said Dolan.
