Marginally Famous Author Visiting and More Happening Thursday
Thursday is here, Narberth. Here's a primer on what to expect.

Thursday is here. If you read this article closely, there's a good chance you'll make it to Friday.
- Government: The Lower Merion Cable Television Advisory Committee, Circulation Element Committee, and Zoning Hearing Board are meeting on Thursday. Clink on the relevant link to view each agenda.
- Fun: Join the Lower Merion Conservancy and the Friends of Linwood Park at Linwood Park in Ardmore at 7 p.m. for The Sounds of Summer. At the event, attendees will look for and listen to local critters. Or, for something completely different, the Free Library of Philadelphia's 1901 Vine Street Branch is hosting author Chuck Klosterman for a 7:30 p.m. conversation about his new book I Wear the Black Hat.
- Traffic: Check out the PennDOT traffic cameras to get a beat on how traffic looks this morning. A prediction: not great.
- Weather: The forecast calls for partial sunshine with a slight chance of rain, and temperatures that top out in the mid 70s. When night falls, the temperature will fall into the 60s.
- History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1978, the world's first "test tube" baby was born in Manchester, England. A neat wrinkle to the story: a few years after giving birth to the first "test tube" baby, Lesley and Peter Brown had another daughter via IVF and named her Natalie. In 1999, Natalie become the first baby conceived via IVF to have a baby of her own via IVF. So...that's something.
