'Most Anticipated' Restaurant List Includes Bala Cynwyd Spots

A new list names some of the area's most anticipated restaurants set to open in 2021, and two Bala Cynwyd places made the list.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — The food scene on the Main Line overall is always changing and expanding it seems. And a spot set to open later this year is among the most anticipated, according to a new list.

Philadelphia Magazine writer Sarah Maiellano recently wrote up a list of "The Most Anticipated Philadelphia Restaurant Openings of Early 2021."

Maiellano writes that despite numerous area restaurants closing due to the coronavirus pandemic, diners have reason to be excited about several places opening in the Philadelphia region this year.

"Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen too many beloved restaurants close their doors," she writes. "At the same time, surprising as it may seem, new eateries are opening up too. Some are takeout only, while others are planning for socially distanced indoor and outdoor dining. Here are the most promising new places opening their doors this spring."

Among the highly-anticipated new restaurants are The Landing Kitchen and Lark in Bala Cynwyd.

Here's what Maiellano said about The Landing Kitchen and Lark:

Two new restaurants from star chef Nick Elmi and hospitality veteran Fia Berisha are making a play for the Main Line. Lark will celebrate sustainable seafood and seasonal produce in an airy space with a rooftop terrace overlooking the Schuylkill River. The Landing Kitchen rides the all day café wave with breakfast and lunch service, plus fresh-baked pastries and Curiosity Doughnut pop-ups.

Nearby, Lola's Garden in Ardmore, which is set to open in April, was included on the list.
