This event is a local runners’ favorite that raises money to help make wishes come true for children living with cystic fibrosis and draws nearly 1,000 participants annually.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited, chronic disease that wreaks havoc on the lungs and digestive system. There is no cure.

Since the Run’s inception, over 200 wishes have been fulfilled for those who receive care at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and other facilities.

All proceeds from the event go to the Take A Breather Foundation, a local organization with the mission of providing a respite in the form of a wish for children who have been touched by cystic fibrosis.

The goal is to allow these children, along with their families, to "take a breather" from the disease and focus on creating magical memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. These memories can strengthen their hearts and minds as they battle the psychological, emotional and financial turmoil that accompanies life with cystic fibrosis
