BENSALEM, PA — Bensalem Veterans Residences, a residential community for seniors and senior veterans, celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday afternoon. Located at 3055 Mechanicsville Rd., the three-story apartment building boasts 40 one-bedroom apartments available to veterans and community members 62 years and older.
“Bensalem Council and I are extremely proud to have been a part of another Bensalem first, giving back to the men and women who have sacrificed so much serving our country,” Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo said at the grand opening.
Local veterans organizations will have support services regularly available on the property, which also features a 24-hour emergency call service for residents. Providers connected to the Veterans Residences include the Bucks County Department of Veteran Affairs, Salute 2 Service, and Bucks County Vet Center. A community service office on the premises will act as a space for local veteran organizations to meet and congregate.
