Bethlehem Man Going 100 MPH In Crash That Killed Son, 9

The driver, Stephen Weekes of Bethlehem and his son, Anthony Weekes were both declared dead at the scene of the New Jersey crash.

The driver of the Honda Accord involved in Saturday night’s fatal accident on interstate 78 in Warren was driving “well over 100 mph” before the car crashed into trees on the side of the road – killing the 39-year-old driver as well as his 9-year-old son.

The driver, Stephen Weekes of Bethlehem and his son, Anthony Weekes, of Jamaica, N.Y., were both declared dead at the scene.

“It is still unknown why Stephen Weeks was traveling at such a high rate of speed, especially with a child in the car,” according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. “There was evidence in the car indicating possible intoxication, but the medical examiner’s lab tests will not be complete for several weeks.”

Weekes reportedly blew past a marked patrol car doing over 100 mph around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night. The patrol car followed the Honda with its emergency lights on for over three miles before Weekes struck the side of a Hyundai Elantra and then careened into the trees on the right side of the highway.

The passengers of the Hyundai, George Frisoli, 22, of Basking Ridge, and his passenger, Calvin Spann, 23, of Maywood, exited their vehicle after the collision.
