Gunpoint Robbery in South Bethlehem, Police Say

Man tells city police cash and cell phone were taken by mugger early Wednesday.

A man told Bethlehem police he was robbed of his cell phone, cash and two cigarette lighters at gunpoint in a South Bethlehem alley early Wednesday, according to the department’s daily crime report.

The victim described his assailant as 5-feet-9 and weighing about 165 pounds, wearing a black, white and gray North Face jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

The alleged mugging took place a little before 12:30 a.m. along Cress Street, an alley that runs parallel to Broadway between Carlton Avenue and Birkel Avenue and abuts the parking lots of both the Ahart’s Market and the Wendy’s.
