James Leary, 64, Worked at PPL for 38 Years

Lehigh University graduate loved hunting, tying flies and ham radio.

James G. Leary, 64, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday in his home.

He was the husband of Nancy Emerson Leary. They celebrated their 41st anniversary in July.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James E. and Helen (Miller) Leary.

James received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Lehigh in 1971. He was employed as an electrical engineer by PPL for 38 years. James was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem.

He enjoyed hunting, tying flies, ham radio and spending time with his family. Survivors: Wife, Nancy; sons, James D. (Elizabeth Borst) Leary of Mount Pocono; daughter, Shannon E. (Joseph J.) Welsh of Frederick, MD.; sister, Alice (Thomas) Reitz of Madison, CT; granddaughters, Abigail Jane and Victoria Grace; nephews, Eliot and Joel; and his beloved cat, Tabby.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 2344 Center Street, Bethlehem.

Arrangements, Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
