Lawsuit Agasint Sands Casino Filed By Convicted Felon Dropped: Report
The judge reportedly ruled Nicholas Mullins, who served four years for beating his girlfriend, was to blame, not the casino.

A lawsuit filed against the Sands Casino in Bethlehem by a man who did jail time for severely beating his girlfriend in 2012 in the casino that claimed the casino continued to provide him free alcoholic beverages despite him being intoxicated was dismissed Wednesday by a judge, according to a report from the Allentown Morning Call.
The Morning Call said Northampton County Judge Paula Roscioli dimissed the case, saying Mullins himself was to blame, not the casino.
The outlet reports, Nicholas Mullins, 31, claims he was given 17 free drinks at the casino where he later beat his girlfriend and was subsequently charged with attempted murder in the beating.

Mullins' attorney Stuart Niemtzow filed the lawsuit under the Dram Shop Act, which allows businesses that sell alcohol to be held liable for injuries caused by over-served patrons, the Morning Call reports.
Sands attorney Kevin Ruane said the attack happened a significant amount of time after Mullins stopped drinking, according to the Morning Call.
