Startup Weekend Lehigh Valley Puts Out a Call For Participants

Startup Weekend Lehigh Valley seeks participants for its third annual event, and they want all local tech entrepreneurs to participate.
In just 54 hours, individuals will pitch their idea to the crowd, recruit a team of passionate and skilled team members, and start building a rapid prototype of their product. Startup Weekend will be held at Ben Franklin TechVentures’® Innovation Institute on November 14-16.
It’s not about having a finely tuned product. It’s about having a rough prototype that people can see, touch, and play with so that prospective entrepreneurs can get valuable feedback on whether it is viable in the marketplace. And will they invest in it?

Previous Startup Weekend Lehigh Valley winners have attracted funding, launched their companies, participated in incubator programs, and travelled around the country telling the world about their idea. Although it may seem doubtful that a company can launch from just working for one weekend together, frequently with strangers, Startup Weekend Lehigh Valley 2012 winning team Skaffl would argue otherwise.
“Skaffl would not be where we are today without Startup Weekend. We came with little more than an idea, and left with so much more.” said Rita Chesterton, now CEO of the company.
