The Highlight: Musikfest pays tribute to the Fabulous 1950s from noon to 7:30 at Festplatz. Wear your poodle skirt and saddle shoes and dance to The Main Street Cruisers, which will play the rock n’ roll hits of the decade from noon to 3:30. Then Desire, Doo-Wop singers from New Jersey, take the stage from 4 to 7:30.
For the Little Ones: The kids can have unlimited fun on all nine rides at Banana Island with a $15 pass from noon to 5 p.m. Sports is the craft theme. StarFish plays family friendly music at neighboring Plaza Tropical from noon to 2 p.m.
The Classical Musikfest: Bethlehem’s own Southside Brass plays at 5 p.m. at Central Moravian Church. Linaria Ensemble a trio featuring flute, piano and harp, will perform at the Moravian Church Old Chapel at 7:30.
The Best of the Free Platzes: What kind of party are you looking for? Parrotheads might want to check out Jimmy & The Parrots at 8:30, which comes at the end of a beach-themed day at Plaza Tropical. If you want to rock out, check out Emily’s ToyBox at Festplatz at 8 p.m. If reggae is your thing, mon, see and hear Mama Jama at Volksplatz at 9. Our highest recommendation goes to great blues harmonica man Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, which will play roots and blues music at Americaplatz from 9 to 11 p.m.
The Late Night Musikfest: For those of you who believe that the best party is a late-night party, the Philadelphia Funk Authority will play soul, R&B and funk for your listening and dancing pleasure from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Musikfest Café.
