Essentially, this is Lehigh University’s giant annual spring yard sale, with items culled from students.
A news release from the university explains:

“Every year at the end of the spring semester, thousands of American college students move out of dormitories and apartments having to leave behind clothing, appliances, food, books, kitchen equipment and other items. We go to great efforts to collect these materials and sell them at unheard of prices!!! All proceeds benefit children and youth programs in South Bethlehem.”
Part of the tradition has been a goal—always met—to top the previous year’s high in fundraising. Last year, $16,000 was raised.
Bargain hunters, Saturday is also the last day of Boutique at the Rink, the annual sale of donated items at the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink, which raises money for cancer programs in the St. Luke's Health Network.
