Wednesday: Celebrate Halloween at the Library

Celebrate Halloween at the Bethlehem Area Public Library during Family Fun Night, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

There will be scary stories, creepy crafts, ghoulish games and all-around fiendish fun for the entire family. Be sure to come in costume. All ages are welcome.

The party is on the second floor of the main branch at 11 W. Church St. Free parking is available in the garage beneath the library.

Here’s what else is going on in Bethlehem today:

• The Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors will hold a Property Tax Elimination Forum at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Best Western Lehigh Valley Hotel & Conference Center, 300 Gateway Drive. Economic expert Jason Horwitz will provide a summary of proposed legislation, results from Realtor-funded economic impact study, and a comparison of tax rates before and after reforms. • Mary Moller, associate nursing professor at Yale University, will present, “The Growing Concern about Mental Health Issues in the Nation,” at Moravian College, in Foy Hall at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The lecture is free of charge and the public is welcome. Foy Hall is located on the Pricilla Payne Hurd Campus located near Main and Church Streets in the historic downtown. 

• The Theatre Department at The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, 675 E. Broad St., presents “Noises Off,” at 7 p.m. Ticket information at www.CharterArts.org.

• It’s Dave’s Night Out at Godfrey Daniels. Dave, of course, is coffee house co-founder Dave Fry, who will host an evening of music and discussion with a pair of Lehigh Valley singers at 7 p.m. Sarah Ayers remains one of the most popular female blues voices in the Lehigh Valley, who is a perennial Best Female Vocalist at the Lehigh Valley Music Awards. Tonight, in a rare performance, she will accompany herself on piano. Robbi Hall Kumalo is a relatively recent addition to the Lehigh Valley music scene, who has sang backup with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Jewel, Diana Ross, John Hiatt, Chaka Khan, Rod Stewart and Mary J. Blige. Tickets are $10.50.

• Celebrate Hump Day with the Deltas, as the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at SteelStacks celebrate the 35th anniversary of the classic comedy Animal House at 7:30 p.m. Director John Landis put himself on the map with this low-budget, fabulously successful comedy, which launched a slew of careers. It was the film debut for both Kevin Bacon and Karen Allen. Tickets are $10, less for seniors, students and ArtsQuest members.
