There are many obvious perks to living in Gladwyne. To enjoy them, you'll pay a hefty price.
Gladwyne is now the region's 3rd most expensive place to purchase a home. That's according to an analysis by Philadelphia Magazine, which lists the Philadelphia region's 50 most expensive neighborhoods for home purchases.

The average home purchase price in Gladwyne in 2018 was $940,396 — down 16 percent from the year before. Additionally, Bryn Mawr is the area's 24th priciest as it had an average purchase price of $687,401, which is up two percent from the previous year.
Villanova, where last year's average purchase price was $1,125,280, was named the area's most expensive.

Several other Main Line communities are among the 50 most expensive places in the Philadelphia region, including Easttown Township (7th), Radnor Township (8th), Merion Station (13th), and Lower Merion Township (16th).
A quick scan of the available listings on Realtor.com for sale in Gladwyne and Bryn Mawr backs up the findings in the analysis. As of March 5, there are 131 listings in both neighborhoods on Realtor.com. Of those, 63 are priced $1 million or more.
