Flying Monkey 5K, Historical Society Meeting and More Upcoming in Cecil Township

Here are 5 announcement made at the last Cecil Township board meeting that you need to know about.

Did you miss the Cecil Township Board of Supervisors meeting Monday?

Supervisors discussed the upcoming meeting at the Worstell impoundment, residents complained about feral cats in Muse, and the audit was presented.

In addition, the board made the following announcements:

  • The second meeting of the Cecil Historical Organization will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 in the Generations room at the township building. Supervisor Elizabeth Cowden encouraged residents with historical knowledge of the township and those who have old pictures to attend the meeting.
  • The second-annual Flying Monkey 5K will be held on Aug. 17 at Southpointe. For more information on how the race originated, click here.
  • The Cecil Township Parks and Recreation Board will host a classic car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 18 in Cecil Park. An entry fee of $10 will be charged. Dash plaques and goodie bags will be given to the first 125 people who register. Prizes will be awarded, a 50-50 and Chinese auction will all take place.
  • The municipal and tax offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.
  • The board of supervisors meeting for September will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
